Local History
The
Gamma Nu Chapter, at the
University of the Pacific (UOP) was chartered on September 17,1960. Brothers
from the Beta Gamma Chapter (UCSF) performed the intiation of 30 new members.
The chapter was origanlly known as the Kappa Psi Club at the UOP School of
Pharmacy before national induction by Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity.
Since Gamma Nu's inception, the chapter has initiated
over 900
fraternity brothers. Many of our brothers are involved
in ASP, Rho-Chi, and Phi Lambda Sigma. In addition,
Gamma Nu brothers have served as student advisors,
teaching assistants, School of Pharmacy tour guides,
student admissions interviewers, resident
advisors, and a multitude of other leadership
positions within the School of Pharmacy.
We instill the values of excellence and
integrity
in all of our matriculating members. Gamma Nu has come
to be recognized as the premiere organization on
the UOP
School of Pharmacy campus. From community service
projects to professional affairs, Kappa Psi strives to
prepare its members for a stimulating and
challenging
career in pharmacy.
